the spoils

The fight is over.

The Lincoln didn't go without a fight.
It got the rain involved.
Bled loads of oil and grease to slow down the inevitable.
Mixed metric and standard at odd places.

get out!

Than to top it off,
it's dead heartless carcass laid in wait,
like a rotting whale stuck on the beach,
unable to move until the right tide comes.

camouflaged

For a week it tortured me.
A few craigslist ads teased the possibility of quick removal,
but nobody wanted this once proud hulk.
Sure,
I could have parted it out piece by piece.
The neighbors would have loved to watch it slowly decompose.

bye old friend

Than under cover of darkness,
it was swept away.

greasy 5.0 ford

For some reason it was important to have an oily 302 engine sitting in the corner of the garage.
So every time we walked through a little bit of oil would get wiped off.

AOD transmission

And it's always good to have a lying in the walkway.

free chief!

There was a cherry on top.
After 2 weeks trapped in the garage,
the old roadster pickup was finally free.
The suspension upgrade worked!
