hot chicks

I've been walkin around in circles lately,
just cleaning up the shop.
It's really just moving things around,
like things in like places,
as there's not much to throw away.

Anyway I found this old thing.

Years ago,
an old friend, Jacob Whitmore,
had a collective studio "Herotogen" up in Ventura.

Since he's from a theatre family,
Jacob was lucky to have an in with studio production,
specializing in set decoration and props.

When I first met him,
he was making the "spirit stick" for the chick blockbuster "Bring It On".

Nope,
no pictures of the spirit stick.
You're gonna have to rent the movie.
Just imagine a bedazzled dowel.

When the Herotogen Ventura studio closed,
I grabbed this thing.

To add to it's legend,
let's say that it was for a porn movie,
on the night stand next to the bed.
I never saw the movie but I'm sure it was great.

It's a trippy sculpture.
It has been residing in relative safety collecting coins.

Hey it wouldn't have lasted this long anywhere else!

I haven't spoke to Jakes in some time,
so I did a little internet research...

Jacob Whitmore

And there was a trippy coincidence I found.

We had netflixed "Dexter",
and one of the seasons the psycho chick torches her studio.

While we were watching that,
I told my wife that the artwork looked just like Jakes.

And strangely enough it was!
Good to see he and his family are still at it.

It's weird how his stuff is unknowingly following a "hot chicks" theme.
Thanks Jake, see ya soon!
